Finishing the Socks
Seaming the Heel: Using your yarn needle, sew the two sides of the heel together using the mattress stitch or your preferred seaming method. You can also weave the yarn tail from the toe into the bottom edge to close the hole at the toe,
Finishing the Cuff: Attach yarn to the top edge of the sock (where the heel joins the foot). Ch 1. Sc in each stitch around the top edge of the sock for one or two rounds, or create a simple ribbing by alternating front post and back post stitches if you're comfortable with that technique. Join with Sl St and fasten off.
Weave in Ends: Securely weave in all loose ends with your yarn needle.
Tips To Success:
Practice the Magic Circle: This is a key technique for starting socks. If you find it tricky, you can also start with ch 2 and work your stitches into the first ch, though it may not be quite as neat.
Count Your Stitches: Especially important in the increase rounds,
counting your stitches helps ensure your socks are the correct size and symmetrical.
Don't Pull Too Tight: For newborn clothing, a soft, stretchy fabric is ideal for comfort.
Make Two! Remember to make a second sock following the same pattern.
